I noticed that WD has released a new version of the " WD Red SMART load/Unload utility 3.5" Drive" which modifies when the drive enters it’s power down state. This looks like something we should implement on our drives. Since mine are installed in my EX2, how can I do this update? I do NOT want to remove the drives and install them in my PC.
Go to Firmware Tab. Under the section Manual Update, click the Update From File button and a window will open. Browse to where you saved the MyPassportWireless_x.bin file and select it. · I'd have thought getting the Linux server machine to do the update would be the way to go. Heed WD's warnings: Important: Please ensure that any important data is backed up from the hard drive and that the drive is removed from the RAID array (the array is offline) before updating the firmware.
· I just recieved a new WD Red which says "NASware 3.0", I looked it up and it seems to indicate it comes pre updated with the WD Red FW update. Now, my older WD Red HDD's do not have this "NASware 3.0" indication on the label. How would I go about updating them in my UnRAID rig? Cheers, Arndroid

I read about the new NASware 3.0, also here direct on product info page.. What is wrong with you guys?
